In our research, we deposit and pattern chalcogenide phase change materials with target applications in all-optical multilevel memories, phase plates for optical machine learning, spatial light modulators, and color pixel displays 

By patterning GST (Germanium Antimony Telluride) in both vertical and lateral dimensions, it is possible to produce a tunable and wide gamut of colors

By using tight focusing and low-absorption infrared light, we have show that it is possible to write multilevel patterns in phase-change materials optically, reaching up to 22 independent levels, or 4+ bits
